October 2017 – Meet the Team

When did you and Maddie become a team? – Maddie and I became a team in October 2016 and she is rated complex.

What other partners have you had? – I have been with Pet Partners and TASA since March 2002 with my other Shih-Tzu therapy dog Puffy Prince.

In what type of facility are you visiting? – Right now Maddie and I are visiting all 3 Ronald McDonald Houses.

In what other Therapy Animals activities do you and your partner participate? – Last year we volunteered at Trinity University de-stressor, the Holiday Parade in Alamo Heights, Joint Base San Antonio Red Cross Christmas Party and of course Pooch Parade. We also belong to the American Red Cross.

Tell us something about your partner that we may not know. – My Maddie is a very sweet 3 year old Shih-Tzu who during the summer belongs to “Paws To Read” at the local library in Petoskey, Michigan. She especially loves children.

What Therapy Animals leadership position(s) do you currently have? – None.

What other leadership positions have you had? – None.

Tell us something about yourself that we may not know. – We have loved being part of Pet Partners and TASA for the past 15 years. I volunteered in Austin for 6 years at Brackenridge Hospital with my other therapy dog Puffy and at Warrior and Family Support Center for the last 5 years before Puffy retired. I stayed with the breed and brought sweet Maddie into our lives to follow in his footsteps. Before I retired I was an international flight attendant with American Airlines for 35 years . I enjoy continuing the visiting tradition with my sweet Maddie and being part of TASA.
