February 2016 – Meet the Team

When did you and QT become a team? – QT and I have been a team since June 2011.

What other partners have you had? – QT is my first and only partner.

In what type of facility are you visiting? – We visit at San Antonio Residence and Rehabilitation Center and the Bexar County Family Justice Center.

In what other Therapy Animals activities do you and your partner participate? – We visit at Northside Alternative Middle School for StoryTails. We have holiday pet parades at the nursing home. We have attended TV events to advertise the Pooch Parade. We have attended several Red Cross events for military families. We have gone to the Pet Expo. We have gone to the Fest of Tails. We have gone to numerous events at schools. We have had children read to us at libraries. We help new teams get their required hours by letting them mentor with us. I try to volunteer for the evaluations whenever I can.

Tell us something about your partner that we may not know. – QT loves all people young and old. She also loves other animals. She rarely barks. QT and I were Rookie of the Year for 2012. I am very proud of that honor.

What Therapy Animals leadership position(s) do you currently have? – I am the StoryTails chairperson.

What other leadership positions have you had? – I have been the Secretary.

Tell us something about yourself that we may not know. – My husband and I both turn 70 this year and plan to do something exciting to celebrate. In the spring we will jump out of an airplane with a trained professional.
