May 2016 – Meet the Team

When did you and Fancy become a team? – In June 2013

What other partners have you had? – Kodak, a recued Dalmatian; Misty, a Cavalier; and Willy, a Cavalier (now retired is the best Therapy Dog I have had).

In what type of facility are you visiting? – I am recovering from knee replacement surgery and currently am looking for a facility with a good fit for Fancy and myself.

In what other Therapy Animals activities do you and your partner participate? – Fancy and I enjoy college de-stressors. You can see the students start to relax as they pet and talk about the dog. Their body language totally changes.

Tell us something about your partner that we may not know. – Fancy has three AKC titles – Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Rally Novice (RN), and Therapy Dog (THD). Currently we are taking Barn Hunt classes just for some fun.

What Therapy Animals leadership position(s) do you currently have? – None

What other leadership positions have you had? – It’s not a real position, but I have been very proud to act at Pooch Parade Master of Ceremonies for the past four years.

Tell us something about yourself that we may not know. – I had my own horse, actually 6 of them over the years. I went Fox Hunting when I rode English and later changed to Western Pleasure. I won a three foot tall award the first year I rode Western, “The Long Island Horseman’s Society, All Around Reserve Champion, Western Judged, Beginner Adult, Pat Durcan, Big Red Scooter.”
