March 2016 – Meet the Team
When did you and Mylie become a team? – In October 2014.
What other partners have you had? – I also have Maggie.
In what type of facility are you visiting? – Mylie is part of Animal Assisted Counseling at Holmgreen Center. Holmgreen Center is a special campus in Northside ISD serving students with severe emotional and behavioral disorders. Mylie works with middle and high school students. We are on campus for a few hours each week. We not only work with students, but are helpful for many of our staff also.
In what other Therapy Animals activities do you and your partner participate? – Mylie and I do presentations at Bexar County Juvenile Justice Department.
Tell us something about your partner that we may not know. – Mylie is an amazing swimmer and loves to ride on our boat.
What Therapy Animals leadership position(s) do you currently have? – Pooch Parade co-chair
What other leadership positions have you had? – I help with evaluation volunteers.
Tell us something about yourself that we may not know. – Something you may not know is that I like to cycle and have a toddler trailer for Mylie so she can ride along.
