January 25, 2024 – The TASA organization learned that Gilley, a Wheaten Terrier and registered therapy dog team with Denise Linnert, passed away at home. Since 2019, Team Gilley has brought smiles and comfort to many children and adults. Her service was widespread with therapy visits to military, university, hospital and other community settings. She also assisted in therapy team evaluations working as a “neutral” dog team.

Gilley’s service also extended to crisis response work with multiple deployments to the San Antonio and Uvalde communities. In 2022, Gilley was nationally recognized for making a difference in the community and given the 2022 Wheaten Ambassador Award by the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America (SCWTCA).
