For those who are no longer able to have a personal companion animal, and for those who can’t be with their companion animal for an extended period of time a visit from one of our therapy teams; a volunteer and his/her pet; can decrease anxiety and loneliness, enhance self esteem, lower blood pressure, and add spontaneous joy to an otherwise challenging or tedious day. They may also provide assistance to meet targeted learning and therapy goals as well as provide crisis support. We currently have more than 80 teams visiting 10 counties in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers, rehabilitation centers, schools, children’s shelters, libraries, bereavement centers, etc. providing animal assisted activities and animal assisted therapy for the patients, clients, students and residents.
