June 2017 – Meet the Team

When did you and Bonnie become a team? – In June 2016.

What other partners have you had? – Bonnie is my first partner.

In what type of facility are you visiting? – We visit the adult general surgery floor and CICU at the Methodist Hospital.

In what other Therapy Animals activities do you and your partner participate? – College de-stressors and Morgan’s Wonderland.

Tell us something about your partner that we may not know. – I rescued Bonnie from the ADL when she was 13 months old. Bonnie had previously been rescued and returned to the ADL after spending almost all of her life with her first family. She had been returned to the shelter because the first owners were divorcing.

What Therapy Animals leadership position(s) do you currently have? – None.

What other leadership positions have you had? – None.

Tell us something about yourself that we may not know. – I was visited by a therapy dog team while spending almost 3 weeks in the hospital. This visit really inspired me and motivated me to get healthy enough to go home and finish my recovery near my dogs. After the therapy team visit, I decided to someday have a therapy dog so that I could help hospital patients.
